SCORM authoring tool for Workday Learning

Honen is a SCORM authoring option for Workday Learning. It builds a course from source material, then exports a live package for a Workday course media lesson. See the Workday Learning integration overview for the full path.

Match the package to Workday

Workday supports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004, 2nd through 4th Editions. Choose the version that your tenant and reporting process have tested. SCORM 1.2 is a useful first test for a simple single-course launch. Choose SCORM 2004 when its tracking behavior meets a defined need. Do not assume a version switch fixes a content or tenant error.

Packaged content must be enabled. A standard ZIP upload through Drive or the Learning file picker has a 4 GB documented limit. Place the package in a course media lesson; Workday does not support it as a stand-alone lesson.

This table compares delivery models, not every vendor. Some other tools also offer connected packages. Test the exact course and package in Workday before assignment.

Author and test

  1. Build from approved documents, slides, or video.
  2. Check facts, images, and quiz answers.
  3. Revise instructions into short, active steps. Keep each term consistent.
  4. Have a qualified editor check the approved dictionary, ASD-STE100 rules, and domain terms if the course needs controlled language.
  5. Export your selected SCORM version and upload it as a Workday media lesson.
  6. Test completion, score, time, and resume behavior with a learner account.

Honen assists drafting and review. It does not certify ASD-STE100 compliance. The Workday record depends on the package and tenant settings, and SCORM communication occurs while the course is open.
