Skilljar LTI 1.3 integration guide for Honen
Use a manual LTI 1.3 registration when you want Skilljar to launch a Honen course as a lesson. The Honen and Skilljar integration also offers SCORM and cmi5 packages. Honen's Skilljar LTI path is launch-only, so plan the lesson record accordingly.
What Skilljar documents

Skilljar announced LTI 1.3 support and documents adding an LTI integration and lesson. Its guide includes embedded and full-browser launch options. A Skilljar administrator needs access to the relevant integration and course settings.
The Skilljar article mixes some legacy Basic Outcomes wording with its LTI 1.3 setup. Honen does not use LTI 1.1 Basic Outcomes. It also does not configure Skilljar AGS grades, NRPS rosters, Deep Linking, or dynamic registration. Test the actual LTI 1.3 launch; do not infer those extra services from the protocol name.
Register and test the launch
- Publish a test course in a Honen organization workspace.
- Open Honen's LMS integration settings and choose a manual LTI 1.3 connection for Skilljar.
- Have a Skilljar administrator open its LTI 1.3 integration setup.
- Exchange the issuer, client, deployment, key, login, redirect, and launch information shown by the two systems.
- Add the resulting LTI 1.3 lesson to a Skilljar test course.
- Launch it as a test learner.
Follow Skilljar's own guide for the current field names and order. Choose an embedded or full-browser launch after a browser test. The verified LTI launch provisions the learner in Honen and opens the course and AI tutor.
Choose a reporting path
A successful Honen LTI launch in Skilljar does not send a Honen score through AGS. If the Skilljar lesson must record completion or score from Honen, use a tested SCORM package or cmi5 package. Do not mark a lesson complete on launch when the training policy requires actual work.
Check the course text
Use one term for one item. Write short, active sentences and one action per step. Honen can help draft and review this controlled-language style. A qualified editor must check ASD-STE100 rules, the approved dictionary, and domain terms. An LTI launch does not establish writing conformity.
Return to Honen with Skilljar for route selection and read SCORM, cmi5, xAPI, and LTI explained for a standards comparison.
