AI course creator for Cornerstone OnDemand

Honen can help you draft a course from approved source material and deliver it through Cornerstone Learning. The Honen and Cornerstone integration uses a SCORM package, so your team can keep its current LMS.

Start with a narrow learning goal

Define the action that the learner must perform. For a new machine procedure, that action might be: identify the isolation point and confirm zero energy. Collect the current procedure, diagrams, and assessment rules. Remove old versions before you start.

Cornerstone supports SCORM content. That means a course authored in Honen can reach Cornerstone through a SCORM export after your team checks the package in its tenant.

Draft and review the course

  1. Add the source files to Honen.
  2. Ask Honen to draft a short course with one goal per section.
  3. Check each instruction against the approved procedure.
  4. Add a practice item that shows the learner what to do.
  5. Test the lesson and the AI tutor as a learner.

Use a controlled-language review before publication. Write short sentences. Use active verbs.

Keep one name for each part. For example, use “Set the switch to OFF” in every lesson if “switch” and “OFF” are the approved terms. Honen can help draft and review this style. A qualified editor must still check the ASD-STE100 dictionary, rules, and domain vocabulary; Honen does not certify conformance.

Deliver the course in Cornerstone

Export a SCORM 1.2 ZIP from Honen. A Cornerstone administrator can use the Content Uploader described in Cornerstone's upload guide. Assign the new course to a small test group first. Check launch, completion, and resume behavior before wide assignment.

The Honen package loads the current course. Edit the content in Honen and learners see the update on their next launch without a new ZIP upload. A change to package settings can require a new export. SCORM sends results through the browser only while the course is open.

What the learner sees

The learner opens the assigned course in Cornerstone. The package starts the Honen course, where lessons, practice, and the course AI tutor are available. The learner can ask the tutor about a step without leaving the course. Test this view with the browser and launch policy that your learners use.

Next step

Read how Honen works with Cornerstone, then use the live SCORM package guide to plan updates. Start with one reviewed procedure and one test learner.
