Oracle Learning cmi5 and xAPI guide
Oracle added cmi5 ZIP imports for self-paced learning in 26A. Honen can create a cmi5 package, but an administrator must enable and test the Oracle feature in the tenant. Start with Honen and Oracle Learning for the full delivery choice.
SCORM, cmi5, and xAPI in plain words

SCORM is a package launch and browser reporting format. It can record completion, pass/fail, score, time, and resume while the course is open. cmi5 is an xAPI-based launch and completion profile. It gives the LMS defined session statements and MoveOn rules. xAPI alone is a statement format for an LRS; it is not a course import path by itself.
Honen can send xAPI 1.0.3 statements server-side to a customer's separate LRS with retry. That is a separate configuration. It does not mean Oracle Learning accepts any arbitrary xAPI package or that Honen plays third-party xAPI content.
Check the Oracle prerequisite
Oracle's 26A announcement says self-paced learning must be enabled. It says a cmi5 ZIP uses the same upload workflow as SCORM. The feature guide lists supported MoveOn criteria, external assignable-unit URLs, statements, and reporting. For external URLs, Oracle uses an OwnWindow launch to avoid cross-origin issues. Test this behavior with the Honen package.
Import and verify
- Confirm 26A cmi5 availability and self-paced learning setup.
- Export the Honen cmi5 ZIP.
- Create self-paced learning and upload the ZIP through the same route used for SCORM.
- Set the completion rule and test a learner launch.
- Check initialized, completed, passed or failed, and terminated statements and the resulting Oracle completion.
Oracle's rollup can depend on MoveOn and a completion setting. Do not infer completion from an upload success message. Have a qualified editor review course text against approved words, ASD-STE100 rules, and domain terms. Honen helps draft short, active instructions, but does not certify conformance.
