SCORM authoring tool for Docebo: choose the right workflow

An authoring tool for Docebo must produce a package that Docebo can open and track. Honen exports live SCORM packages for a course you build and review in Honen. Start with the Honen and Docebo overview.

Check the Docebo requirements

Docebo accepts SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 3rd Edition. The ZIP needs an imsmanifest.xml file at its root. Docebo lists a 1024 MB file limit. It also states that SCORM 2004 sequencing is not supported in the usual way. For Honen, choose SCORM 1.2, then test the package in your tenant. Honen's 2004 export is 4th Edition, not Docebo's documented 3rd Edition.

Understand a live package

A static ZIP contains the course content at export time. A Honen live ZIP acts as a launcher and loads approved course content from Honen when the learner opens it. A text correction in Honen can reach the existing Docebo training material without a new ZIP. The learner needs network access to Honen. Package structure and tracking changes still require a controlled test.

Docebo also supports replacing an uploaded SCORM package. Its help page says the replacement must use the same SCORM version. That is a separate Docebo workflow from changing Honen-hosted content.

Review the words before export

Give Honen approved terminology and a clear source. Ask for short, active sentences. Put one task in each instruction. Check every draft against the current procedure. A qualified editor must review the approved dictionary, ASD-STE100 rules, and domain terms. Release the text only after review.

Test the finished lesson

Add the ZIP to a test Docebo course. Launch as a learner. Complete the course and use its own Close or Exit control. Confirm status and score in Docebo. Repeat after a controlled content edit.

For exact upload steps, read how to upload SCORM to Docebo. Compare formats in the LMS standards guide, then return to Honen for Docebo.
