AI course creator for Google Classroom
Honen can help you draft a course from approved material and attach it to a Google Classroom assignment. The Honen and Google Classroom connection uses a Classroom add-on. It does not require an LTI setup or a SCORM ZIP.
Start with a specific goal

Write what the learner must do after the course. For example: “Identify the evidence that supports a claim in a short article.” Add the current reading, lesson plan, and assessment criteria to Honen. Remove outdated files before you generate a draft.
Google says a Classroom add-on can attach interactive content to classwork. An add-on can provide an activity that requires a student response or a content item for reading and viewing.
Draft and review in Honen
- Ask Honen to draft a short course from the approved source.
- Check every claim and example against that source.
- Add one practice activity for the learning goal.
- Test the activity and AI tutor as a learner.
- Publish the approved course.
Use controlled language in lessons and directions. Keep one term for each idea. Use active voice and one action per instruction. Honen can help draft and review this style. A qualified editor must check ASD-STE100 rules, the approved dictionary, and domain vocabulary.
Add the course to Classroom
The Honen add-on must be installed for your teacher account or organization. Google's teacher guide says that add-on attachments are created and assigned on the web. In a class, open Classwork, create an assignment, and choose Honen under Add-ons. Select the course or supported activity. Honen's guide describes this flow.
Open the assignment as a test learner. Check the lesson, tutor, and any required sign-in. For a graded activity, use a positive point value and inspect the draft grade in Classroom. The teacher must review and publish that grade.
Return to Honen with Google Classroom for requirements and use the LMS integration chooser if your institution also uses another platform.
