How Honen works with Chamilo

Keep Chamilo for learners and course records. Build and review a course in Honen, then import its SCORM 1.2 ZIP into a Chamilo learning path. Discuss a Chamilo pilot with Honen.

SCORM support alone does not verify Honen's hosted launcher in Chamilo. Test the exact ZIP, learner launch, and result in your site before rollout.

Choose SCORM 1.2 for the first import

The current Chamilo 3 learning-path guide describes a Learning paths → more actions → Import route for SCORM ZIP files. Chamilo 3 supports SCORM 1.2. It describes SCORM 2004 support as partial: content, progress, and scores can work, but SCORM 2004 sequencing and navigation rules are not applied. Use Honen's SCORM 1.2 export for a first pilot and test it in your installation.

Chamilo can build learning paths with its own AI generator when configured. Honen is useful when the same reviewed source course must be maintained in Honen and delivered through a live SCORM launcher to Chamilo and other LMSs.

Review before you import

Give Honen approved documents, slides, and other material. Draft lessons, practice, and checks. Confirm the facts and answers. Honen can help draft and review controlled-language content inspired by ASD-STE100. A qualified editor must check the approved dictionary, rules, and domain terms.

Update the live course

Honen's ZIP is a thin launcher. Edit the course in Honen, and the Chamilo learning path loads current content on the next launch. Re-export if package settings change. SCORM reports completion, pass/fail, score, time, and resume data through the browser while the course is open. Chamilo tracks learning-path progress and scores; test how its local completion and grade settings interpret the package.

The Honen tutor runs within the launched course. Test access and browser behavior with a learner account. Honen keeps a separate course progress view.

Questions teams ask

Can Chamilo 3 import Honen's SCORM 1.2 ZIP?

Chamilo documents SCORM 1.2 import in the Learning paths tool. Test the Honen ZIP and its reporting in your installation before release.

Should I use Honen's SCORM 2004 export?

Start with 1.2. Chamilo 3 says its 2004 sequencing and navigation support is partial. Test a 2004 4th Edition package only if the installation requires it.

Does a Honen content edit need a new ZIP upload?

If the Chamilo hosted-package pilot passes, the existing Honen launcher loads current content. Package setting changes need a new export.

Where does the Honen tutor appear?

The tutor runs inside the Honen course opened from the Chamilo learning path. Test access and browser behavior with a learner account.
