Honen for SumTotal: keep controlled training current

Honen helps you draft, review, and update training delivered through SumTotal Learning Management. Keep SumTotal for assignment, certifications, and records. Use Honen for the approved lesson and tutor, then test a live SCORM package in your tenant.

Choose a documented content path

SumTotal lists SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 among its online course formats. It also lists xAPI and cmi5. This page uses SCORM because SumTotal confirms both versions and the Honen package path is clear. Ask your SumTotal administrator which version, ZIP limit, launch settings, and import workflow apply to your instance. Public SumTotal pages do not give a current SCORM upload walkthrough.

The same SumTotal page describes versioning for documents and learning activities and audit reports for learner activity and roster changes. Decide whether a change needs only an approved Honen lesson revision or also a new SumTotal activity version. Record which content version an assigned learner saw.

Draft from the controlling source

Give Honen the current policy, procedure, slide deck, or video. Name the learner's task. Have the source owner check each rule, threshold, question, and tutor answer. Test an exception that the source does not explain.

Write short sentences and use active verbs. Put one action in each instruction. Use one approved term for each concept. A qualified editor must check ASD-STE100 rules, the approved dictionary, and domain terms. Honen helps draft controlled language.

Update and test the record

Honen's thin package loads current approved content when the learner opens it. A text correction can appear without another ZIP upload. Test package structure, navigation, and tracking changes. A live course needs network access to Honen's host. For SCORM, completion, pass or fail, score, time, and resume data return only while the course is open. Check the actual result in SumTotal and keep its activity-version record aligned with your change policy.

Questions teams ask

Does SumTotal accept SCORM 2004?

Its public compliance page lists both SCORM 1.2 and 2004. Confirm the version used by your tenant.

Does SumTotal support cmi5?

SumTotal lists cmi5 as an online course format. This page does not describe a tested Honen cmi5 tenant setup.

Does a Honen text edit need another ZIP?

An approved hosted text edit can load through the existing package. Check whether your audit process also requires a new SumTotal activity version.

Where is the upload guide?

Public SumTotal pages confirm SCORM support but do not document current admin controls. Use your tenant's instructions.

Is the draft ASD-STE100 conformant?

A qualified editor must check the applicable rules and terms.
