Sakai LTI 1.3 integration guide for Honen
Sakai supports LTI 1.3 tools through administrator-managed External Tools. Read Honen with Sakai, then register and test the tool for the intended site.
Ask the system administrator to configure LTI 1.3

Sakai states that site-level External Tool setup is for LTI 1.1. The administrator should use External Tools in the Administration Workspace for LTI 1.3. Sakai's LTI Advantage registration guide shows the registration controls and the service choices. Coordinate the Honen tool values with the Honen workspace integration admin. Use a registration method supported by the actual Sakai and Honen setup, then inspect the saved tool settings.
Select a placement and services
Sakai can place a tool in Lessons, Assignments, an editor, or site navigation. A Lessons content selection needs a compatible Deep Linking launch. A site navigation link can use a resource-link launch. Select the placement that matches the course task.
| Need | Sakai setting to verify |
|---|---|
| Open a course | Approved LTI 1.3 resource-link placement |
| Select Honen content | Deep Linking launch and a compatible placement |
| Return a grade | Permission to return grades and a line item |
| Sync a roster | Permission to provide roster data |
Honen can post completion or pass/fail through compatible AGS. Progress percentage is coarse; a test-grade option has no per-course score wired. Test the result with a learner account. A verified LTI launch can provision the learner and map the site context to a Honen group.
Review content and test
Honen helps teams draft and review controlled-language lessons inspired by ASD-STE100. A qualified editor must check the approved dictionary, rules, and domain terms. Test tutor access and the selected Sakai placement. Sakai 25's SCORM Player accepts only 2004 3rd Edition, so Honen's current ZIP exports need another verified player.
Next step
